Lounge on the High Line, read in pods and drink Blue Bottle Coffee
Kindle set up white-leather couches and windowed pods on the High Line’s Chelsea Market Passage to promote its latest e-reader.

Take advantage of the 80-degree temps this weekend and hit the High Line where Amazon has set up so-called reading pods to test out its just-launched second-generation Kindle Paper white. Sure, it's a promotional gimmick—but when else will you be able to chill out on the elevated railway turned park whilst sipping on gratis Blue Bottle Coffee?

We tried out the partially covered "living room" setup this morning: You can lounge on leather couches while you browse or test the e-reader inside the soundproof pods, where for some indiscernible reason (shy readers?) the walls fog up for privacy. Find the pods in Chelsea Market Passage on the High Line (enter at W 16th St and Tenth Ave); they're open to the public today through Sunday, 10am–8pm.
